Painter Arvie Smith
Arvie Smith's paintings are not only bold and colorful, but also challenging. Arvie says he doesn't paint, but rather tells stories. As an African American whose great-grandmother grew up as a slave, Arvie's work challenges us with the struggle and pain of the African American experience. Arvie's main gig is as an instructor at PNCA. Additionally, he gives back to the community by sharing his talents of painting and teaching with at risk youth.

Thormahlen Harps
One played the mandolin, the other the guitar...but now Sharon and Dave Thormahlen are devoted to the folk harp. In their home workshop in Corvallis, Oregon, Dave and Sharon are producing world-class instruments. It takes about six weeks to build a harp from start to finish.
