- Sunriver Young Artist Scholarship

- Since 1996, the Sunriver Music Festival has been bringing world-class musicians to central Oregon for a classical concert series. The festival also gives scholarships to students from Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties who show exceptional promise in classical music. A select group of students audition in Sunriver before a committee. A concert celebrates the students who have received scholarship money.

- Latin Jazz Percussionist Bobby Torres

- Proficient in many styles, percussionist Bobby Torres has toured with Joe Cocker, Etta James and Tom Jones. He learned the drums in New York City, where he formed the drumming and dancing group Afro-zicians. Now he's heading a Latin jazz band in Portland, as well as teaching and hosting drumming parties.

- Johanson is an award-winning composer. He takes inspiration from sources as varied as poets Sappho and Samuel Beckett, medieval physiology, Roman history, and his personal experience. The Portland Symphonic Choir featured one of his compositions in their 2005 spring concert.
