Gateway to Devil's Canyon and the Snake river in northeastern Oregon, Imnaha is a small, isolated community, home to friendly, independent people as well as the occasional cougar. With a population of about two hundred, this tiny community attracts few newcomers due to its isolation, rugged terrain and intense summer heat. Steeped in history, this land was once home to the Nez Perce Indians and then later, Euro-American settlers.

The red wiggler worm is making quite a name for itself in the waste management business. Dan Holcombe of Portland uses the worms to process 5000 pounds a day of rejected food and produce, turning it into valuable fertilizer.
