Boomers
Most of us have never heard of the boomer, or mountain beaver, but it is a major threat to the forest services industry. A close cousin of the more common beaver, boomers are a small burrowing rodent and also one of the oldest. Numbering in the hundreds of thousands they range along the coastal mountains throughout much of the pacific NW. Take a look at what is being done to mitigate the damage they cause to reseeded forest.
