OPB presents a Portland Arts and Lectures conversation with poet Natasha Tretheway. Pulitzer Prize-winning poet whose books include Native Guard and Bellocq’s Ophelia. Tretheway talks about Hurricane Katrina’s effect on her hometown on the Gulf Coast, her mother’s death, and how mementos from the Civil War inspire her poems. Aired Tuesday, November 30th.

Her other books include The World Is Round, Rice and On Wings Made of Gauze. She is Professor of English and creative writing at the University of Kentucky.
