Changes to Our Site
You may have noticed that our site looks different today. That's because we're making some changes online to go with our changes on-air. The biggest visual change is that from now on we'll be displaying each segment for a given show on the home page. You'll be able to comment on each one before, during, and after a show. But that brings me to the bigger change: we've installed a new commenting system!
We've decided to go with a service called Disqus. You can read all about it here.
We're very excited about what this will mean in terms of expanding our community, and improving our commenting interface. You'll now be able to comment on our site using your Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Google, and other online identities. You'll be able to comment throughout the entire OPB site using the same identity. (In fact, you'll be able to comment on a long and growing list of sites using this same identity.)
What this mean, though, is that even if you've been a part of the TOL communty for more than three years now, you'll need to register again. You can do that on any show page you click on. (Here's a relatively helpful video by a guy who walks you through the process.) I should emphasize that even though you'll need to sign on again, all of the comments from the last three-plus years are safe; they're not going anywhere.
Oh, and one more thing: whenever people make big site changes like we're doing, there are bound to be a few hiccups here and there. So let us know if something's not behaving, or if you're having any trouble logging on. We'll be glad to help you out. Our email address: thinkoutloud ((at)) opb.org.
