November 17th Week on TOL

The Think Out Loud team just emerged from our Friday editorial meeting with a tentative schedule for next week's shows. As always, prepare for changes! Oh, and don't forget that we'd love you to begin commenting as soon as the posts go up (if the day of the week shows up as a link that means the post is ready for you). Your comments now help us shape us shape the eventual hour on the radio.

Monday: How Old is Old Growth? Do you know how a clutch of old growth trees are different from an old growth forest? We'll talk about the answer, and find out what it can teach us about what trees to cut down, and when.

Tuesday: As President-elect Obama and his team prepares to transition to power, we talk with Oregon leaders about how they have taken organizations from bust to boom or from crisis to calm. And we'd love to hear your stories on big changes you've made and how you've taken other people along with you.

Wednesday: Childhood Obesity -- it's a popular headline as an increasing number of children fight the bulge, but who is ultimately responsible for stopping the problem before it becomes even worse? In preparation for holiday binging, we'll talk about what's being done to fight childhood obesity.

Thursday: A portrait of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde on their 25th anniversary. How has life changed for them since they became recognized as a tribe? How does their casino impact their lives? What is life like as a member of the Grande Ronde in 2008?

Friday: In the next installment of our As We Are series we speak with migrant workers, past and present, about their experiences working in Oregon's fields and farms.
