Pedestrian Traffic Update
Since our show last week on pedestrian safety, there have been several more crashes in Oregon involving people on foot. Two people were struck and killed by trucks on Monday night. Earlier in the day, an elderly driver hit two adults and one small child in a stroller as they were crossing the street. Sadly, the child later died from his injuries, bringing the total number of pedestrian deaths in the state this year to 54.
The Oregonian reports a substantial increase in pedestrian deaths this year and, as we mentioned on our show, this time of year tends to be particularly dangerous for pedestrians. Be careful out there.
