Alex Kelly, a senior at Grant High School, told me this right after today's show: The teachers he has liked the most and learned the most from are the ones who don't spend any time cracking down on cell phone use in the classroom. He sees it as teachers wasting their time on a distraction. And he says it makes the students responsibile for learning what the teacher has to offer.
Alex also says he does text sometimes in classes like that — but he's still paying attention!
