Researchers with Portland's EcoNorthwest are releasing a study on February 2nd that analyzes the rate of chronic absences in Oregon schools.

Chronic absence is a sometimes overlooked figure that is tied to student performance throughout primary and secondary education. It is defined as missing at least 10 percent of school days — that's about 18 days in most Oregon schools.

We'll dig into the results of EcoNorthwest's study, and find out what parents, teachers, and policymakers in Oregon can do about the problem.

Are you a parent of a student in Oregon public schools? Is absenteeism a problem in your school or with your kids?
