Are you a fan of Cheryl Strayed? We had her on Think Out Loud earlier this year to talk about her now wildly popular book Wild. Since our conversation, the book has been chosen to launch Oprah's Book Club 2.0 and it's climbed to number one on the New York Times Bestseller List for Non-Fiction.
But of course Cheryl Strayed may be best known for something else — her column "Dear Sugar" on The Rumpus. She wrote it anonymously for about two years before outing herself on Valentine's Day this year. Now she's publishing a collection of that work called Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar. The inside cover gives a sense of some of the columns in the book:
Forgiveness doesn't just sit there like a pretty boy in a bar.
and
Walk without a stick into the darkest woods.
and
Believe that the fairy tale is true.
The book will be published on July 10th. Think Out Loud will be her very first broadcast interview. We'll spend an hour talking about her columns, her advice, and her new fame.
