The city of Portland just renewed the lease for Dignity Village, the homeless community at the end of the #10 bus line in Northeast Portland. However, the city says before it votes on another long term contract, it wants to see the village address problems that have previously been identified in a 2010 consultant's report.

Earlier this month, city leaders and advocates celebrated the opening of one of the features of the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness: The Bud Clark Commons, a facility for homeless and low income residents.

How do both of these events fit into the larger plan to end homelessness?

Have you worked with people who are homeless? Have you struggled with homelessness yourself? What other efforts besides Dignity Village and Bud Clark Commons are needed to address homelessness?
