Christopher Stowell is widely credited with bringing the Oregon Ballet Theatre to new artistic heights, as well as national and international recognition. In his roughly decade-long tenure as artistic director, Stowell emphasized dancer training, live music and new works. In 2009, he rescued the OBT from near financial collapse.

Stowell says OBT is in a different financial situation now than in 2009, but the board has said there will need to be some belt-tightening. He says he simply is not the best person to lead this transition. We'll talk to him about the last ten years, the climate for arts funding and what the future holds for him, post-OBT.

Are you an Oregon Ballet Theatre supporter? What have you most appreciated in the last ten years? What are your hopes for the next OBT artistic director? What would you like to ask Christopher Stowell?
