The High Desert Museum teamed up with Bear Creek Elementary School in Bend to create an exhibit curated exclusively by children. Students spent the last year visiting the museum, researching their heritage, and making art that represented their findings.
The results are only display at a new exhibit. They include hand-painted masks, group mosaics decorated with symbolic pieces from each of student’s history, and an exhibit of beaded pieces all detailing the various cultures of the 95 kid-curators.
What does heritage mean to you? What parts of your heritage would you exhibit? And how would you represent them through works of art?
