The Latest On The Mohamed Mohamud Trial
The trial of a young man accused of trying to set off a bomb at Portland's holiday tree-lighting ceremony in 2010 began earlier this month. Mohamed Mohamud was 19 years old when he was arrested. The bomb he tried to detonate was a fake, supplied to him by undercover FBI agents.
Most recently, undercover agents who were involved in the sting operation testified on how they handled the case. Lawyers on both sides sparred over what Mohamud's writings and texts show about the young man's priorities and concerns. Jurors also got a glimpse of the moments just before Mohamud attempted to detonate the bomb that were captured on surveillance cameras.
