Fair Housing in and around Portland
AIR DATE: Wednesday, June 6th 2012
The Oregonian has dug into the issue of fair housing in the Portland area. Reporter Brad Schmidt has been focusing on the issue full-time for the past several months, and his pieces are featured in the newspaper this week. Among the issues they've touched on are:
- Where federal fair housing subsidies are going
- Why the use of Section 8 housing vouchers is shifting to neighborhoods east of 82nd Avenue
- The lack of fair housing in wealthier Portland-area cities like Lake Oswego and West Linn
- The role of developers in shaping fair housing policies and regulation
Have you been following The Oregonian's series on fair housing? What questions do you have for reporter Brad Schmidt? What is your experience with fair and affordable housing policies in Portland?
