The Beaverton School District is one of the three largest school districts in Oregon and this year, it's facing the biggest budget shortfall. Superintendent Jeff Rose presented a budget proposal Thursday night that would eliminate 344 jobs, including administrators and library media specialists in addition to teachers. The proposed cuts are an effort to bridge a $37 million gap without closing schools, something the district says it just can't do this year.
Last year, Beaverton residents rejected a $14 million annual school levy.
Do you or your children go to school in Beaverton? What is your reaction to the proposal to cut 344 jobs in the district?
