Have you ever been somewhere in downtown Portland or a Multnomah County Library branch and wondered about a piece of art you've stumbled across? A new, free iPhone app can tell you more about whatever you're looking at — and might even give you an artist's statement about the piece.
Although you might not need an app to notice the giant Portlandia statue, you could easily walk by other public art without realizing it's there - and yours for the looking.
Would you use a public art app? How does seeing art in public spaces change your experience of that place? Do you have a favorite piece of public art?
Editor's Note: This show will be broadcast live from a journalism conference put on by the University of Oregon at its Turnbull Center in Portland. The event is free and open to the public, but preregistration with the Turnbull Center is required.
