on Paper, Plastic or What?

"I am not about to walk with an empty tacky tote to the store, flapping around in the wind. I do use these dreadful totes at times, but I am not about to use them every time I go shopping."-scottmil

This is exactly the problem. People take them grocery shopping but not anywhere else. I think they should be banned in every single mall in the United States.

and there not tacky- obviously you care way to much about your image. get over your self people! make these small changes, don't think about your self for once.

on Paper, Plastic or What?

I work at a grocery store and its RIDICULOUS the excuses people come up with that they forgot their bag. I bring my bag every single time, it doesn't take a brain scientist. You remembered your cell phone but not your bag? they whine about it, and make excuses, i'm tired of hearing about it!

also, I have a dog and we buy bio bags... I think you should have to pay for bags to clean up after your dog- why should you get free bags? You own the animal and need to take responsible for that animal OR don't have one!

on Bike Plan 2030

I think the city needs to improve bike accessibility on MAX. I would ride to take public transit to PSU but all the bike racks are always full!

on Stuff

The only thing I've boughten this week (besides food) is a Patagonia shirt. I splurged because it is so expensive, but I know it will last for forever and be extremely useful. Usually clothing made today is so cheaply made it only last a little while.

My significant other and I try to live very simply. Really the only "junk" we own is stuff we acquired from our travels such as paintings and other memory related items.

We don't own a T.V. and haven't wanted to watch one in years, so I wonder if that is a reason why we are so disinchanted with materialism? We don't feel the need to compete

on Urban Chickens

I live in NE around Alberta and our neighbors have chickens. We never have any complaints about them- no smell or noise. I think they bring a cool vibe to the neighborhood, we love walking by them with our dog and checking them out and see how they are doing and saying hello.

One time a different neighbor (a stranger) lost their dog and we found it and returned it to them- they rewarded us with a whole container full of fresh chicken eggs! It was very sweet and delicious!!
