I wonder if part of this dilemma is just an continuation of teenage angst that Gen Y’ers struggle to move beyond.  Instead of making tough decisions about education, careers, marriage and family; decisions are postponed.  The result is a feeling of stagnation and dissatisfaction which is sometimes projected onto parents and society.  In their quest for self actualization, Gen Y’ers also seem to be desperately searching for role models.
