on Worthington Trial: The Verdict Is In
Their is no coddling these people. Where on earth do you do nothing when your child stops breathing. Their is no excuse they didn't know any better. They are like someone who drove willingly through a red light and ran down their daughter. She had fever and symptoms. To give thses these ignorent people any respect after the killed their child is ridiculous. They are ignorent crimianls and the people who let them off, the same.

on The White State
I am a white woman, who moved here from Chicago last summer. I lived in very diverse neighborhoods some of which I was the ethnic minority.
But what I find most interesting is that not being at a work place where african-american and other ethnicities are blended in all along the professional spectrum makes me feel less safe. I feel that the work place is a bit clubby without diversity. I worry about my own ability to fit in as a gay woman without as much diversity. Also I find it just wierd when I am in social settings that are all white.

on Printed Matters
I worked for the Tribune Company an old newspaper and now a large media company. They had the idea a few years ago to build a network and bought the LATimes, BaltimoreSun, OrlandoSentinel, Newyork Newsday and tv stations. The idea was to integrate media. But it never happended. They never saw the future of YouTube and broadcast divisions and traditions never merged with print and online. Up to one year ago they were still writing stories for the end of the day rather than at night for online readers in the morning. In short they missed the boat because of entrenched traditions. Now the company has gone private, has taken on a lot of debt and is making large cut backs.
