Thank you for sharing your story and his. We passed the book to a young family member in Juvenile Prison, who is beginning to understand the extended ramifications and consequents of his choices. He is making progress over 2 years in growth and maturity. Your book may be one of many tools and people to support that.
Thanks TOL for conducting this show at Roosevelt, where more could hear the story than can buy tickets for the Schnitz.

"I've lived in North Portland since 1979. Instead of treating traffic like a liquid, and building more and more space for cars and trucks, let's build a structure that also encourages and makes it easy and comfortable for people to switch to transit and bikes. Ivan's previous comment has the essence of tha, a park-like setting for walkers and cyclists. I'm also in favour of the 'pay as you go' idea of tolls."

Emily, please add a list of places where people can do something, either donate money or groups and skills needed for volunteering. Some of us have some money or time and would like to help wildlife, the people of Louisianna, or some other need.
I've checked the Audobon Society Home Page http://www.audubon.org/ and they have some information on the right hand side.
The New Orleans LA page NOLA also has info
http://www.nola.com/news/gulf-oil-spill/index.ssf/2010/05/how_to_help_volunteers_needed.html
Some require very specific skills like HAZMAT training, but there must be other things one can do.
Thanks for your important show.
Susan
