Tim's comments:

on Surviving the Quarter-Life Crisis

The term Quarter-Life-Crisis is catchy, but I take some issue with the assumption that uncertainty and curiosity is a crisis.  It's completely healthy to switch gears, have varied passions, or pick up and go somewhere or do something unpredictable.  As for me, I was 25 in December 2008 when I quit a secure office job and spent 8 months in Europe and Africa visiting friends and staying in rural communities on organic farms and with Peace Corps volunteers.  Many people were surprised that I would give up a good job when everyone around me was getting laid off, but that misses the point.  I felt the itch to wander and why resist it?  There is no reason why I shouldn't take a year for self health and enjoyment.  I have since found work again, but who's to say I won't be looking to find new experiences again in my 30s?
