I think something missing from the conversation about  "caring for seniors during this economic crisis" was the failure of people to plan for the future. Long-term care insurance was never discussed, but as we learned from the conversation the woman's mother certainly had the financial resources to have protected her need and now her daughter is getting paid by her mother rather than an insurance company and a drop in the stock market forced her to make a change.
