on From the Conventions: Challenging Economic Times
I always hear of trickle down economic policy. Do the rich really invest and grow their businesses in the absence of increased demand? Trickle up economics seems a more efficient stimulus! Putting more money in the pockets of the middle and working class is the surest way to increase demand.

I have heard many opinions, and theories. What does the data show?
Shouldn't public policy be data driven?
The only relevant outcomes data are pregnancy rate and std rate not the number reporting abstinence

Globalization has not only created more competition but has made local news less relevant. I can get news from NPR, the BBC, The New York Times, The Times, The Guardian and The Economist. Why would I subscribe to a poorly written and mawkish local news paper? Any local news I want I can get for free in the various weekly magazines

"...love of and devotion to one's country."
What is one's country? The physical boundries, the people, the government, or the constitution(if one has one)?
The physical boundries are meaningless without considering what they define. The people are diverse. Some are good some are downright evil. The government -'nuff said.
I feel patriotic whenever the ACLU wins a case against the state or national government. Forcing us to live by the principles upon which the country is founded is patriotic. Fighting just wars to defend those that wish to live under the constitution is patriotic.
