on Religious Clothing in the Classroom

I cant believe that in the twentyfirst century we cant teach our children to accept other peoples beliefs and accept that people are different. teaching our children tolerance, understanding and acceptance is better than burying your head in the sand. tolerence and understanding leads to peace and a healthy way of life. if we allow people to have other religions then we must accept that they are going to show their ways. that is a great thing that we can all express our views, it is called America not some third world nation. love your neighbor and allow them their beliefs.

on Measure 65: Open Primary

I could not support this more. I am not affiliated with a party and would like to vote in the oregon primary election. I see this as a chance for people to say none of the above or why not this person. furthermore, we need to get rid of the electoral college, my vote should count not some super delegate, delegate or electoral college forum. one vote one person each person.

on The Democratic Party's On

I voted Democrat for years. then I realized I did not know enough about either party to be a member. I am non affiliated which means that in my state I cannot vote in the primary, that means my vote in the general is more important to me since it is all I get to say about the candidates. I personally do not see a lot of difference in the two men. they both say what we all want to hear. they are both good at making speeches. so I say bring it on and impress me you have a couple of months. frankly I wish we could get rid of the outdated Electoral college and have a straight vote, also why even have parties. the candidates both say they break from the party line. so why have them, just have the people who want to be elected make speeches. the air time on tv and radio would be donated for a large debate.

on Of Prayer and Penicillin

I have no problem with faith healing, the power of prayer and all that. but why is there such a seperation of god and medicine. doctors have the abilities they have due to god granting them the knowledge and skill to help god heal. maybe disease is caused by the devil and he wants the childrens souls. why would a loving god put helpfull things like pennicillian, aspirin and other things that come from nature and therefore from god and then help the doctors to find them to help people. if it were not for doctors and medicine babies would not servive. the bible says we should have dominion over the earth. does that not include using the products of nature and the knowledge god gave us.

on Casinos and Condos in the Columbia Gorge

the problem of the gorge building could be easily answered. following the guidelines that the Wild and Scenic area on the Rogue River. low profile buildings back from the river. I would add the mill could used by repairing the buildings, so they look rustic and paint them brown or green to blend in, the inside would be modern. the casino could use the same process. further the traffic problem could be solved by using shuttles either busses or horses and wagons. the wagons would also be a point of interest. the parking would be away from the river and therefore the traffic problem could be kept down, some people could be ferried to the places by boat, another selling point.
