on Philosophy of Taxes & Spending
Andy Grove (form Intel CEO) was grateful for the opportunity to pay taxes.
I saw Andy speak in the mid-eighties and it was moving to hear his willingness, even happiness, that he could contribute to the country he had made his home. It was the cost of living this life in this country.
I'm a serial entrepreneur and business owner. Typically a conservative group. But Andy's example certainly affected my outlook and I write my tax check each quarter with a happy heart.
Blessings!

So many ridiculous statements from the republican candidates.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change
"There is NO remaining maintained dissenting opinion" and even among those with dissenting viewpoints, none question that the climate IS warming or that the presence of increasing Greenhouse Gases are the primary cause.
It simply makes the Vancouver Republican candidates look ignorant.

I can't believe these bozos can dance around the realities of building the bridge. The keep blathering about differences in tax theory.
STOP!
We get it. Democrats take action through spending. Republicans believe in limiting on spending and depending on the private sector. WE GET IT.
Now answer the question.

on Foreclosing in Oregon
Our situation matches Mike's, so no need to call in. But it no longer made sense to keep our condo, as an investment asset. Unless the bank were write down the principle by 20%, the value of the property would never match the face cost of the note.
So we're simply letting the foreclosure happen planning to hand them the keys when they finally ask.
